Modoc
A people
Background
The Modoc's country ran well south of the Klamath Marsh. Their lands included the Lower Lost River and the country around Clear Lake, and their territory ran south as far as the mountains beyond Goose Lake, in northeastern California. The Klamath Tribes are the federally recognised government of the Modoc as well as of the Klamath and the Yahooskin-Paiute, and their history page counts six tribes of the Klamaths bound by loyalty and family.
