Background

Cuyahoga Valley National Park credits the Lake Erie Native American Council directly and names it as a partner in the park's own programming, alongside the American Indian Center of Cleveland, the North American Indian Cultural Centers and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association. It is a council rather than a tribe, and the park's list of the more than twenty-five federally recognised tribes and several Canadian First Nations it consults with does not include it. As of September 2026 the Council had no website this page could reach, so its membership, programs and events are not described here.
