Klamath
A people
Background
The Klamath Tribes' history page counts six tribes of the Klamaths, bound together by ties of loyalty and family, and says where they lived: along the Klamath Marsh, on the banks of Agency Lake, near the mouth of the Lower Williamson River, on Pelican Bay, beside the Link River and in the uplands of the Sprague River Valley. The Klamath Tribes name three peoples, the Klamath, the Modoc and the Yahooskin-Paiute, and give the three of them one name, mukluks and numu, the people. The seasonal food of those six tribes was built on the runs of fish that surged up the Williamson, the Sprague and the Lost rivers toward the end of March.
